Chris(tine) Sheppard has been involved in theatre ever since she was 12 as she watched her parents rehearse with Beckett Players on the West Island. She joined Beckett Players herself for a few years and then took time off from the theatre to raise her three children. She returned to the theatre, at her daughters urging, in Hudson Village Theatre’s annual Panto. Chris has performed in 3 Pantos; Red Riding Hood, Aladdin and Cinderella. She was also in Riversmead, directed by Heather Markgraf and in Hudson Players Club’s production of Jitter’s, The Great Gatsby and Balconville. Also, Chris was a member of the Hudson Players Club’s executive board for 4 years, first as membership, then as secretary. Most recently, Chris performed in two previous Shakespeare productions, For the Love of Shakespeare and MacBeth. When not performing, Chris is an elementary school resource teacher, Educational Consultant, Master’s of Education student and artist. She is very grateful to the entire cast and crew of Merry Wives of Windsor for a fantastic experience with her first love, theatre.
Andrew Morris is very excited to be part of Balconville. Andrew has a passion for the art of acting and has been involved with a couple of productions in his time living in Saint Lazare. When he moved to Montreal from Calgary in 2014, he was exposed to the wonders of Pantomime during the holidays. He had to be apart of it. The next year he was casted as John Darling in the Pantomine’s Peter Pan. The year after that he was involved in the Wizard of Oz as the Tin Man. This is his first Hudson Players Club production, but not his first time being under the direction of Glenn Robinson. He is extremely proud and excited to be working with such an amazing cast, and can’t wait to continue with his acting career.
A proud native Montrealer, Adam is thrilled to have the opportunity to work on a piece that taps into the history of his wonderful city. Getting the opportunity to work on Balconville has been a joyride for Adam and he’d like to thank the entire cast and crew, writer David Fennario and director Glen Robinson. This marks the second appearance for Adam with HPC, previously appearing in The Great Gatsby as Nick Carraway. Despite Johnny Regan’s numerous shortcomings, Adam has come to fall in love with the character and truly hopes you do too..
Denis Lamonde, who plays the role of Claude Paquette, is extremely proud to be joining the cast of Balconville. Denis was born in Montreal and is currently living in Rigaud. Denis first started acting at the age of 57, he best known for playing the role of Ron Kovacks in the 2013 Budweiser Goal Light promotion, his acting career has been in television and web commercials, docudramas and voice overs. Most of his family and friends have said that Denis has been acting his whole life, the only difference is, now is getting paid to act.
Balconville the play is Denis’s first live theatre performance, he very excited to have been given this opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.
Performing in Theater started in my teens including some option Theatre courses at Cégep Lionel Groulx.
I took a long break while raising my 4 kids and working full time as an early childhood educator. Most recently, I performed in Cinderella 2013, Lysistrata 2014, Robin Hood 2014, No Sex Please We’re British 2015, Peter Pan 2015, La Petite Séduction (Les Belles Sœurs), 2016 The Wizard of Oz as the cowardly Lion and now in this Fabulous production of Balconville!
Simon has been performing in and around Montreal since the late ’90s. Favorite roles include Dick Deadeye (HMS Pinafore), Wilfred Shadbolt (Yeomen of the Guard), Luiz (The Gondoliers), Robin (Ruddigore), Strephon (Iolanthe) and Pirate King (Pirates of Penzance) for Lakeshore Light Opera, Jud Fry (Oklahoma!) and Underling (Drowsy Chaperone) for Hudson Music Club, Javert (Music from Les Miserables) for Productions Coracole, Borrachio (Much Ado About Nothing) for Hudson Players Club and Macbeth (Macbeth) for his own company, Base, Common & Popular. He’s excited to be making his French language debut as Thibault in Balconville.
