Matt is thrilled to be making his Hudson Players Club debut as Jay Gatsby in this classic story. A former theatre student and member of the National Championship winning baseball team at Concordia University, you may also have seen him on stage with the Lakeshore Players: Jeffrey in The Curious Savage, David in Sabrina Fair, Tony in You Can’t Take It With You and Philip Lombard in And Then There Were None. Select TV/Film credits include: Quantico, Blue Mountain State, Lance et Compte and Fatal Vows.
He would like to thank the wonderful team behind this production and his fellow actors with whom he gets to share the stage. Enjoy the show!
Lia is a graduate of the John Abbott Professional Theatre Program, as well as McGill University, with a degree in Education. You may have seen Lia in the Lakeshore Players 2015-2016 season as Lydia in Shakespeare in Hollywood, Gabriella in Boeing Boeing, and Fairy May in The Curious Savage. Thank you to the Hudson Players Club for the chance to bring this story to life alongside such a wonderful cast and crew!
Lisa is thrilled to be back on stage with Hudson Players Club as part of The Great Gatsby cast! Lisa was last seen as Laura in HPC’s spring production of Whose Wives Are They Anyway. She also had a blast in last December’s Peter Pan Pantomime as Mrs. Darling and Yellowbeard. Lisa is so grateful to have had elementary and high school teachers who instilled in her a passion for theatre; especially Louise Chalmers. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at Hudson Players Club, our fantastic director, cast, crew, friends, and family for their support!
Jazmine was so excited to take part in the Hudson Players Clubs “The Great Gatsby.” She is studying at John Abbott College in her third year of Professional Theatre. Jazmine has been doing shows with the Hudson Players Club for years, including Puss in Boots, Cinderella, Robin Hood and A Midsummer Nights Dream. This year, she took part in shows such as Peter Pan as Wendy, Into the Woods as Snow White, and For the Love of Shakespeare as Juliet, Roselind and Katerina.
This is Wayne’s first appearance on the Hudson Village Theatre stage. He did, however, appear in the Hudson Players Club 2015 Shakespeare by the Lake production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He also stage managed HPC’s 2010 production of The Mousetrap. In addition, he has appeared on the Lakeshore Players stage in each of the last three seasons, blowing up fireworks in You Can’t Take It With You, looking everywhere for his wife in Not Now, Darling, and being a rather less than respectable character in The Curious Savage, which he also produced and was recently nominated for a Montreal English Theatre Award (META). He’s thrilled to be working with yet another amazingly talented cast and crew and he’d like to thank Donna Byrne for this opportunity. You’ll have to excuse him now – he needs to get to a Tim Hortons.
Chris(tine) Sheppard has been involved in theatre ever since she was 12 as she watched her parents rehearse with Beckett Players on the West Island. She joined Beckett Players herself for a few years and then took time off from the theatre to raise her three children. She returned to the theatre, at her daughters urging, in Hudson Village Theatre’s annual Panto. Chris has performed in 3 Pantos; Red Riding Hood, Aladdin and Cinderella. She was also in Riversmead, directed by Heather Markgraf and in Hudson Players Club’s production of Jitter’s, The Great Gatsby and Balconville. Also, Chris was a member of the Hudson Players Club’s executive board for 4 years, first as membership, then as secretary. Most recently, Chris performed in two previous Shakespeare productions, For the Love of Shakespeare and MacBeth. When not performing, Chris is an elementary school resource teacher, Educational Consultant, Master’s of Education student and artist. She is very grateful to the entire cast and crew of Merry Wives of Windsor for a fantastic experience with her first love, theatre.
I have been dabbling in Theatre for the past three years. I am fortunate to live and play in this beautiful theatre community.
